BJF Group is a leading multidiscipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering high quality construction projects across various sectors priding ourselves of our reputation for excellence and attention to detail.
Within our Facilities Management division, the Southwest Core team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of reactive and preventative works across a diverse range of properties and systems within our client's sites - as a Multiskilled Engineer. Within the team, you will be expected to provide comprehensive repairs and maintenance to a range of commercial instillations.
Position Of The Multiskilled Engineer
To deliver a high-quality and statutory compliant maintenance service to MoD property and assets. To include the operation, repair and maintenance of Building, Fabric repairs.
- Respond to reactive calls, carry out first fix where possible, be prepared to provide scoping quotes for permanent repairs where first fix is not possible, ensuring minimum downtime.
- Carry out all planned building / fabric maintenance tasks as per program and keep accurate auditable records of works planned and completed, the clients CAFM system.
- Work closely with site service managers to ensure that the site is maintained and kept in good decorative order internally and externally – provide advice guidance on routine fabric repairs to support a timely completion.
- You are to ensure you work within the confines of current Health and Safety legislation and adhere to site protocols and any work-related safety measures as updated during your induction onto site.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to and adopt any relevant control measures to ensure the safety of colleagues, client and any other persons within the vicinity which could be impacted the work you are undertaking.
- Maintain good personal standards to represent the Client therefore maintaining high values standards of customer care.
- Be prepared to be versatile and undertake other reasonable duties to support the clients operational requirements.

Main Tasks
- Carpentry, repairs and replacements for doors, architraves and door sets.
- Wall & Floor tiling.
- Minor plastering and drywalling.
- Minor decorations to make good.
Requirements Of The Multiskilled Engineer
- NVQ Level 2 or above in a building services/trade discipline or equivalent.
- Carpentry qualification.
- Experience carrying out trade related maintenance, installation and fault finds.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works / tasks completed within KPI’s.
- Basic building fabric repair-Painting & decorating, Bricklaying and Plastering.
- Timber and UVPC door and window repairs.
