About the Role
Lancashire County Council is looking for a temporary Museum Manager to join Lancashire County Museum Service working at one of its unique museums and heritage sites.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience while we undertake work on planning our operations in Lancaster. If you are passionate about bringing Lancashire's heritage to life, inspiring the public and delivering a great visitor experience then this post is for you. This role leads the site team which includes volunteers and is responsible for the site including premises, facilities, operations and the public programme including tours, events, exhibitions and facilitating group and school visits. They also work with the Friends of Judges' Lodgings and Lancaster Judges' Lodgings Trust who support the museum.

This is a fixed-term post based at Judges' Lodgings in Lancaster and required from Tuesday 11 August until 31 March 2027. The hours are 22.2 hours per week, working Thursday, Friday and either Tuesday or Wednesday and a Sunday on a rota, every other weekend.
If you wish to be considered on a secondment basis, you must obtain approval from your current line manager prior to interview. The interview will be held on 21st July.
