Music Programmer
OUR COMPANY CULTURE:
WHO WE ARE
Boiler Room started in 2010 with weekly live broadcasts that opened a keyhole to London's underground. Today we remain true to that history: we exist to act as a lens on global club culture, and amplifier of the vital grassroots scenes shaping its future.
Through world class festivals, club events, films, and an ever-expanding video archive, Boiler Room has been a stage for over 9000 artists across more than 300 locations — while giving music fans everywhere unfiltered access to local dance floors, worldwide.
OUR WORKPLACE
Diversity is more than a commitment at Boiler Room — it is the foundation of what we do. All Boiler Room events and workplaces are inclusive spaces, enjoyed by everyone regardless of race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, physical ability, gender identity or sexual orientation.
YOUR ROLE
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
You will conceptualise and deliver high-quality programming and culturally relevant artist line-ups, across various territories and event sizes (small-cap club-size venues as well as multi-stage festivals).
MAIN DUTIES
- Collaborating with the Programming team to oversee assigned shows in markets across various territories, leveraging extensive personal networks.
- Programming assigned key event stages in said regions to meet the Events department's ticket sales and profit margin targets.
- Programming assigned priority festival stages.
- Ensure that budgets are adhered to and all administrative tasks are completed at the highest quality (exemplary attention to detail, organisation, communication and stakeholder management).
EXPECTATIONS (specific to your role)
- Ensuring that each assigned event has a unified programming focus and achieves the needs of Boiler Room and relevant festivals, takes on board local partner insights and any brand commitments.
- Handling the booking process for event line-ups from idea conception through to event delivery (Checking availabilities, negotiating fees and contracting, advancing with production teams)
- Advance, contract and oversee payment for all acts in a timely fashion, as well as connecting them with local production to hand over artist-specific information ahead of the show.
- Working closely with Event Production, Marketing, Broadcast and Accounting teams to ensure Boiler Room events and Broadcasts are delivered to the highest possible standards, within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Being the artist-facing contact on the day of show, attending to any needs, last-minute changes or requests, and building long-term connections with them and their teams.
- Working with wider programming and event production teams to build a network of collaborators to ensure our events connect as closely as possible to local communities.
- Feeding into location decisions, both cities and venues in chosen markets.
- Assisting with the creative decisions for all auxiliary activations. For example merch collaborations / pop-ups or documentaries / brand deliverables.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
