Music Teacher – Job Description

Position: Music Teacher Contract: September 2026 (Full-time, permanent) Pay: MPS1 – UPS3 + TLR (S Standing Dependent on Experience) Teaching Responsibilities: Across KS3 and KS4, with the option for KS5 Curriculum: Plan lessons to align with the Curriculum for Excellence national guidance Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to plan and coordinate lessons Support Offered: Encouragement for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators

Music Teacher – Person Specification

Essential:

  • UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Proven experience in teaching at a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level
  • Music-related degree at 2:1 (upper second class) or 1:1 from a reputable university
  • Ambitious and driven personality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong desire to progress in their career
