We are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Greenwich. As a Music Teacher, you will:

🎵 Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. 🎸 Join a supportive Creative Arts department valued for innovation, collaboration, and providing students with diverse musical experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Teach Key Stage 5 Music as required.
  • Inspire students in:
    • Musical knowledge
    • Practical performance skills
    • Composition
    • Appreciation of various musical genres
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and Music department success.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities such as:
    • Choirs
    • Ensembles
    • Concerts
    • Productions
    • School performances (where appropriate)
  • Collaborate with colleagues for enhanced teaching.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and school policies.

Essential Criteria

✅ UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.

  • Ability to teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for music education.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children/young people.

Preferred Criteria

✨ Experience teaching Key Stage 5 Music. ✨ Leading/supporting choirs, ensembles, orchestras, or extracurricular music activities. ✨ Ability to teach practical and theoretical aspects of the Music curriculum. ✨ Experience preparing students for GCSE and A Level Music. ✨ Passion for continuous professional development and collaboration.
