About Sing Education
Sing Education is pioneering modern music education. We recruit, train, and support outstanding music teachers while developing innovative teaching resources. Our mission is to inspire every child with the joy and power of music in nurseries, primary schools, and beyond.
Main Responsibilities
- Weekly teaching (full school day, 8.45 AM–3.30/4.30 PM), term-time only
- Permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school(s)
- 1 to 5 teaching days per week
- Deliver singing-led music lessons (Nursery–Year 6) using Sing Education curricular resources
- Host singing assemblies
- Lead choirs and other student activities (lunchtime/after-school clubs)

Requirements
Qualifications
- University graduate with a degree in music or a related field
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong vocal skills with the ability to lead engaging lessons and assemblies
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience conducting whole-class music lessons
- Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum for music
- Proficient with ICT (e.g., G Suite, online systems)
Experience
- Prior classroom or one-on-one teaching experience
- Work with children or young people in a teaching/leadership role
Personal Attributes

- Strong classroom management and disciplinary skills
- Effective collaboration with school/Sing Education teams
- Confidentiality and professionalism
- Sense of humour and energetic leadership in teaching

Compensation
- £22,379–£29,288 per annum (pro-rated for part-time, 5-day scale in £ increments)
- Pay increases tied to years of service (annual reviews)
- Initial salary depends on teaching experience and weekly hours
- No PGCE or QTS required
- Salary details for non-5-day roles based on contracted hours
Contract Terms
- 38-hour workweek (7 days per academic year, ~40 hours total)
- Paid employment training periods
