Senior Music Transcriber (MIDI & Notation)
Work Snapshot
- Type: Contract
- Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours
- Pay: $55–$110/hr
What You’ll Be Doing
- Transcribe full mixes and provided stems into accurate multi-track MIDI, capturing pitch, onset, duration, velocity, and polyphony across all instruments
- Follow a consistent MIDI specification—including quantization, tempo mapping, drum mapping, and pitch bends
- Identify and document underlying harmony, key signatures, modulations, and voice leading as symbolic ground truth
- Deliver clean, instrument-separated MIDI tracks aligned precisely to source audio

What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in professional music transcription or notation session work, arranging, engraving, or equivalent
- Strong experience in a DAW or notation tool (Logic, Cubase, Reaper, Pro Tools, Sibelius, MuseScore, or similar)
- Strong experience transcribing polyphonic, multi-instrument material accurately by ear
- Strong experience applying music theory—harmony, voice leading, and rhythmic precision—in a production or notation context
