Multiskilled Engineer (Panama Days)
Location: Norfolk
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Panama Days (12-hour shifts)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
An established and growing food manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Multiskilled Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment where reliability, continuous improvement, and teamwork are key.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving production machinery and site equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency while supporting the business in achieving its production and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site services.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and production issues.
- Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and modification projects.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers when required.
- Contribute to a proactive engineering culture focused on problem-solving and operational excellence.

Skills & Experience Required
- Recognised Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled or equivalent).
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, food production, FMCG, or processing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Flexible and proactive approach to maintenance activities.
