Development Manager (NARM) – Glasgow
Salary Band: £70,280 - £88,500 (Plus up to 20% bonus, Family Health Cover, and Car Allowance) Type: Permanent / Hybrid

About the Role
You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and reliable transmission network, driving decision-making through robust risk modelling and asset stewardship to ensure long-term resilience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Development Manager (NARM) in Glasgow, your core duties will include:

Leadership in NARM Methodology & Network Risk Modelling
- Serve as the SPT Lead for developing NARM methodology and risk models for transmission networks.
- Design and implement network risk models to support regulatory price control submissions, ensuring strict compliance with requirements.

Regulatory & Compliance Alignment
- Support the NARM Reporting Manager in closing regulatory submissions.
- Drive long-term asset stewardship and network development plans to optimise regulatory performance while maintaining system integrity.
- Align work with the Asset Stewardship Group to ensure cohesive asset management strategy.

Risk Management & Asset Optimisation
- Define and reinforce asset health and risk measures aligned with financial investment plans.
- Develop asset intervention models to identify and manage risks proactively.
- Lead asset data initiatives aimed at improving risk modelling and system reliability.

Stakeholder Engagement & Industry Influence
- Represent SP Energy Networks to key industry stakeholders, promoting best practices in risk management and network performance.
- Ensure alignment of asset strategies with broader SPEN objectives while communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Technical & Commercial Leadership
- Collaborate with Internal and External stakeholders, particularly on asset data quality and investment justification.
- Embed commercial awareness, focusing on how risk and value decisions impact network operations.

Team & Process Enhancement
- Mandate scalable, dynamic risk governance systems for sustainable asset longevity.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational resilience.
Requirements
Essential Criteria

Degree qualification, ideally in engineering, finance, mathematics, or related discipline.

Specialist knowledge of transmission networks, their risks, and related stakeholder expectations.

Proven expertise in asset-health modelling, risk assessment, and financial management.

Reliable track record of projects within a £80m/year financial scope.

Strong stakeholder and change influence experience in large-scale network initiatives.
-
Experience working in istry-compliant settings, including health-and-safety regulations.
-
Competence to the Chartered IET standards.

Commitment to flexible travel across SP Energy Networks’ licence areas or offsite locations.

Engagement in developing asset management strategies, including certifications and steering committees.
