National Account Controller
Contract type: Permanent
Base Location: One of our MMI sites – East Kilbride, Skelmersdale, Manchester, Market Drayton, Droitwich, Severnside, or Bridgwater. With flexibility to join onsite meetings at Droitwich as needed.
Travel: UK travel as needed
At Müller Milk & Ingredients, we play a vital role in keeping Britain stocked with fresh, locally sourced dairy. Working with British farmers and a national network of dairies, we deliver high-quality milk, cream, and butter to retailers and customers every day.
We're looking for a commercially astute and ambitious National Account Controller to lead across multiple customers in Grocery and Discounters. This is a high-profile role with full P&L ownership, significant strategic influence, and the opportunity to shape both customer growth and the future direction of our business.
What you'll be doing
- Own the strategic relationship of multiple customers, delivering against volume, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Lead the development and execution of customer business plans aligned to both Müller and customer priorities.
- Take full accountability for the customer P&L, driving sustainable profitability and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Lead key negotiations, tenders, and commercial agreements, delivering mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Category teams to deliver outstanding customer performance.
- Use data, insight, and market understanding to shape strategy and influence decision-making.
- Lead and develop a team, creating a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement, with added responsibility of leading a cross-functional team.
- Act as a trusted deputy to the Business Unit Head, stepping into broader leadership responsibilities when required.

What we're looking for
- Significant experience managing major customers within an FMCG environment.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with a proven track record of delivering P&L, volume, and profit targets, as well as experience with open book commercial models.
- Experience leading customer negotiations and developing strategic partnerships.
- A confident and influential stakeholder manager, able to build credibility at all levels internally and externally.
- Proven people leadership experience with a passion for developing talent.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.
- A proactive, resilient, and commercially curious mindset.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility for UK travel in line with business needs.
