National Account Manager

Location: London (3 days in the office)
Salary: £50-60k + Bonus + Benefits

About The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced National Account Manager to join this leading FMCG business. This role sits within the commercial team and reports into a senior customer lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning commercial insights into action. You'll use data and analysis to identify growth opportunities, shape account strategy, and deliver successful plans across both in-store and online channels.

We're looking for a customer-focused, analytical, and resilient individual with strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to driving account and category performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the commercial performance for a key account, delivering sustainable growth across revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Develop and implement customer-specific business plans, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring strategic priorities are translated into effective execution.
  • Build trusted relationships with key customer contacts and collaborate across internal teams to deliver shared business objectives and drive long-term success.
  • Manage customer meetings and commercial discussions, leading initiatives including product launches, promotional activity, and annual trading agreements.
  • Work closely with Category, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance teams to maximize in-store and online performance, improving distribution, availability, promotional execution, and shopper activation.
  • Analyse sales performance, market trends, and customer data to identify opportunities, manage risks, and support accurate forecasting and commercial decision-making.
  • Lead account planning and day-to-day customer management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Support the development of team capability by coaching colleagues, sharing best practice, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Key Experience

  • Experience in account management roles within UK&I retail, with a proven track record of delivering strong commercial results.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with experience influencing value-based outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and credibility to build relationships across external customers and internal functions, aligning requirements and resolving issues.
  • A customer-centric mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and translate them into executable plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
