Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused National Account Manager to manage and develop key national customer accounts, driving sustainable sales growth, profitability, and market share. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships with major retail customers.
  • Developing strategic account plans.
  • Delivering mutually beneficial business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop customer relationships.
  • Deliver agreed sales, volume, revenue, profit, and market share targets.
    • Create and implement annual joint business plans aligned with customer and company objectives.
    • Lead customer negotiations, including:
      • Pricing.
      • Promotional activity.
      • Range reviews.
      • Annual trading agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for:
    • Category growth.
    • Product innovation.
    • Distribution expansion.
  • Analyse:
    • Sales performance.
    • Market trends.
    • Customer data.
    • Competitor activity.
  • Inform commercial decisions.
  • Collaborate with:
    • Marketing.
    • Category Management.
    • Supply Chain.
    • Finance.
    • Operations.
    • Product Development.
  • Deliver customer plans effectively.
  • Prepare and present customer presentations and business reviews.
  • Forecast customer demand accurately and support supply planning processes.
  • Monitor promotional effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Represent Irwin's Bakery professionally at:
    • Customer meetings.
    • Trade events.
    • Industry forums.

Essential

  • Experience as a National Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or similar commercial role within FMCG.
  • Experience managing retail customers and delivering commercial growth.
  • Strong track record of:
    • Successful negotiation.
    • Account development.
  • Excellent commercial, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities.
  • Experience developing and executing customer business plans.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
