National Account Manager
£55,000 Basic + Bonus | National Account Manager | Managing £3M of Strategic National Accounts | Leading Capital Equipment Manufacturer
National Account Manager – Capital Equipment
Location: National (Field / Home Based)
The Role of National Account Manager
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading manufacturer in a strategic National Account Manager position, taking ownership of an established portfolio of approximately 10 national accounts worth circa £3 million in annual revenue.
Rather than focusing on high-volume new business, this is a relationship-led commercial role where your success will come from developing long-term partnerships, protecting existing revenue and identifying opportunities to grow your customers through both capital equipment and service solutions.
Your customers will be some of the UK's leading forklift truck and material handling equipment (MHE) companies, where you will build trusted relationships with Procurement Managers, Buyers and Purchasing teams, whilst also partnering closely with your customers' regional and national Account Managers.
You will be responsible for developing strategic account plans, negotiating commercial agreements, increasing share of wallet and ensuring customers receive an exceptional level of service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
