pladis is the top-tier Biscuit manufacturer with three nationally loved brands; McVitie’s, Jacobs, and Go Ahead; and annual revenue of £667m. We are the 9th biggest FMCG company and 3rd fastest growing (source Kantar) in the UK.

The UK Sales Team at pladis employs approximately 150 people across functions including account management, category management, and customer marketing. The Team is responsible for the delivery of the commercial budgets across the UK, split into three channels: Grocery; Convenience & Impulse; and Discounters. The Wholesale channel P&L worth +£80M in revenue, the relationships with customers such as Bestway, Unitas, Sugro, and the Discount Wholesalers.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Build “winning” relationships with all contacts and customers and members across biscuits & snacks categories, through regular customer meetings.
  • Build an account plan that is aligned to the Wholesale Channel sales agenda to hit budget across all customers.
  • Build, gain internal alignment & agree an optimal terms package that drives sales, share, feature, & distribution gains across customers for pladis.
  • Build custom scorecards to highlight customer performance and highlight early where course correction may be required.
  • Forecasting and delivery of monthly sales and profit targets.
  • Lead the growth agenda with customers and members by identifying & unlocking incremental sales opportunities.
  • Review and handle the efficiency of all Biscuits and Snacks promotions and make recommendations on strategic direction.
  • Support the pladis Shopper Marketing team in activating campaigns throughout the trade at HO level and locally with members.
  • Work collaboratively with broader functions to deliver exceptional customer-focused opportunities.
  • Support the Wholesale Team on the wider sales agenda, through reports and analysis that aid decision making, where required.
  • Use of multiple internal platforms including sales reporting, category, as well as customer toolkits.

Essential

  • Experience in a customer-facing role within FMCG.
  • Convenience Retail, Wholesale experience required.
  • Working autonomously and as part of a team towards a common goal.
  • Problem-solving and solution-oriented.
  • Logical mind and attention to detail.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

Desirable

  • Experience of dealing with convenience customers is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in Impulse categories.
  • Branded experience (as opposed to Retailer Brand).
