Customer Development Manager
An opportunity is available for a Customer Development Manager to manage strategic retail accounts and drive commercial growth across a portfolio of leading consumer brands.
Location: Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Take full P&L ownership for a portfolio of strategic brands.
- Deliver agreed sales, market share, profitability and commercial performance targets.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting and promotional spend, ensuring accurate demand planning and financial control.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail customers.
- Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Create and manage Joint Business Plans with retail partners to drive mutual growth.
- Lead retailer projects beyond day-to-day account management.
- Manage range reviews, category negotiations and commercial discussions across multiple product categories.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Category Management and Shopper Marketing to maximise business opportunities.

Requirements
Essential
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Experience within the FMCG industry.
- Previous customer-facing experience managing major retail accounts, particularly Boots or a comparable retailer.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities to increase sales and commercial performance.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to develop collaborative business strategies that deliver value for both retailer and business.
- Adaptable with the ability to respond effectively to changing business priorities.
