Location: Field Based – Travel expected to sites, offices and customer meetings Job Length: Permanent, Full Time

About the Role

The National Account Manager – High Street is the primary customer interface for key High Street & Travel partners, responsible for:

  • Leading negotiations and development of account-specific strategic and tactical plans across Beer and Soft Drinks categories.
  • Delivering financial targets, distribution, execution, and share goals.
  • Key high-profile clients: WH Smith Travel, Boots, Superdrug, M&S.

The role supports 1 direct report, overseeing Motorway Service Stations (Welcome Break, Roadchef, Moto).


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver customer-specific strategic plans aligned with channel and brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to develop annual plans driving sales growth and outlet execution.
  • Develop, negotiate, and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) in line with internal governance processes.
  • Lead brand activation plans and cross-functional team projects to enhance performance and engagement.
  • Manage pricing activity, including cost-price increases and customer negotiations.
  • Partner with Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting, business planning, and promotional management.
  • Build strong customer relationships and proactive contact strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Monitor account performance, identify improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.
  • Own the P&L for key High Street Softs and Beer accounts, including budgeting and investment management.
  • Utilise CRM & planning tools (Xtel, Promax, Anaplan).

Experience & Key Attributes

  • Strong commercial acumen for developing viable Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and tailored account strategies.
  • Experience in P&L management, forecasting, and ownership of volume and profit targets.
  • High persuasive selling and negotiation skills within volume-led commercial environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, written, and oral communication for internal/external partnerships.
  • Ability to influence and challenge constructively, with a highly developed influencing style.
  • Effective priority setting, planning, and time management.
