National Account Manager - Grocery
Location: Hybrid (UK) Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits
The Business
Our client is a market-leading FMCG business with a portfolio of iconic household brands that have been trusted by consumers for generations. With a strong heritage, continued investment in innovation and ambitious growth plans, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a National Account Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organisation and play a key role in driving growth across major grocery customers.
The Role
As National Account Manager, you'll take ownership of key grocery accounts, developing customer strategies that drive sustainable sales growth, profitability and market share.
Working cross-functionally with Category, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain, you'll build long-term customer partnerships, lead Joint Business Plans and identify opportunities to unlock further commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with major grocery multiples
- Deliver sales, profit and volume targets across your customer portfolio
- Own customer P&L, forecasting and budget management
- Build and execute Joint Business Plans aligned to customer and business objectives
- Lead annual negotiations, promotional planning and range reviews
- Identify opportunities to increase distribution, availability and category performance
- Work closely with Category and Marketing teams to deliver insight-led recommendations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure best-in-class customer service
- Analyse customer and market performance to identify commercial opportunities
- Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting and retailer systems

About You
We're looking for an experienced National Account Manager with a successful track record of managing major grocery retailers within FMCG.
Experience & Skills
- National Account Management experience within FMCG
- Experience managing major grocery multiples
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Proven ability to deliver sustainable sales growth
- Experience leading Joint Business Plans and commercial negotiations
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills
- Strong analytical, forecasting and planning capability
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commercially driven, proactive and results focused
