National Account Manager – Pet Retail (Pets at Home & Jolley’s)
About the Role
Pets Choice is a leading FMCG brand manufacturer specialising in products for pets and small animals. Our diverse portfolio spans multiple brands—Webbox, Bob Martin, Felight, TastyBone, Meatiful, WildThings, and Spikes—and covers key categories like food, treats, toys, accessories, health, and hygiene, distributed across grocery, wholesale, ecommerce, export, and pet specialist channels.
We are seeking a talented and ambitious National Account Manager to own our accounts with Pets at Home and Jolley’s, driving growth and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Manage, network, and develop strategic relationships with national accounts
- Develop and execute brand strategies aligned with company objectives for the account portfolio
- Increase distribution and visibility of Pets Choice products within target retailers
- Explore and develop new business opportunities within the account base
- Deliver internal targets with a focus on profitable growth
- Implement promotional plans in line with strategy and customer requirements
- Understand commercial impact—pricing, promotions, investments, and cost structures
- Negotiate:
- Trading terms
- Pricing adjustments
- Range reset opportunities
- Justified Buying Programmes (JBP’s) and cost increases (where applicable)
- Develop, implement, and execute JBP’s for both customer and internal targets
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure account-specific objectives are met
- Provide clear internal and external performance analysis from reports
- Guide retailers in the execution of NPD (New Product Development) plans
- Focus on forecasting, internal communication, and retailer supply demands
- Develop internal and customer presentations, including category-based insights
- Monitor competitor activity and track internal performance

- Strong commercial and negotiation skills (FMCG experience preferred)
- Pet channel knowledge (or willingness to learn rapidly)
- Ability to influence and build strong relationships (both internally and externally)
- Solution-focused, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong data analysis capabilities
- High drive and energy levels, with resilience and persistence
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all dealings
- Self-motivated with a proactive, positive attitude
- Open to flexible working, including UK-wide travel and regular head-office visits (Blackburn)
