Summary of Job Role: National Account Manager

The National Account Manager role is critical to our success story. You’ll be customer-obsessed, championing our brands and supporting our customers at every turn. Your role involves:

  • Driving sales through collaborations with key partners and developing joint business plans to ensure mutual success for both Radnor and our customers.

  • Building a deep understanding of target accounts’ business needs to position Radnor as a preferred partner, while maintaining our family-run approach.

Our fast-paced and ever-growing sales team offers clarity in career development, with personalised development plans supported by our team of managers.

  • Working with existing partners to identify new sales opportunities.

  • Seeking out new business whilst maintaining existing accounts.

  • Core client groups include:

    • Large foodservice distributors
    • Contract caterers
    • Travel operators
  • Client Relations: Build and strengthen relations with key national account customers.

  • Sales Growth: Develop strategies for sales growth, revenue targets, and opportunity identification.

  • Contract Negotiation: Secure and propose agreeable terms, pricing, and contract agreements with accounts.

  • Strategic Planning: Coordinate between departments to ensure alignment of products and services with market trends.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare and review sales forecasts, key metrics, and performance analytics.

  • Inter-Departmental Collaboration: Work cohesively with other teams to enhance service delivery.

  • Customer Advocacy: Represent customer interests internally and address feedback.

  • Problem Resolution: Anticipate and address challenges faced by national accounts.

  • Training and Development: Support and upskill internal team members.

  • Compliance & Contract Management: Ensure contract alignment and renewal processes.

  • Budget Management: Adhere to budgetary constraints to achieve sales targets.

Candidate Requirements

✔ A proven track record in sales focusing on large wholesale environments, including:

  • Foodservice distributors
  • Contract caterers

✔ Recognition of a strong interpersonal skill set. ✔ Effective presentation skills with a desire to develop commercial awareness. ✔ Robust time management and organisational capabilities. ✔ Proactive self-starter who is passionate, resilient, and driven in a fast-paced environment. ✔ Sound proficiency in IT skills. ✔ Full and valid UK driving licence essential.


Hours & Location

  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for customer-focused events.
  • Travel: Occasional overnight stays/weekly business travel.
  • Our Head Office, Heartsease, is based in Knighton and you will work from here 3-4 days per month.
