About the Role
Invictus Foods is a rapidly growing FMCG business bringing authentic, high-quality food products to the UK retail market. With growth exceeding 150% year-on-year, we are building a strong presence across major retail and wholesale channels and are entering an exciting phase of expansion.
As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to join our commercial team. This role will play a critical part in developing strategic partnerships with key retail customers and driving sustainable growth across the Invictus Foods portfolio.
The National Account Manager will take full ownership of assigned customer accounts, leading the development and delivery of Joint Business Plans while driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Account Development & Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across customer organisations including buying, category, and supply chain teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer strategies, priorities, and trading cycles to identify opportunities for long-term growth.
- Lead the development and execution of Joint Business Plans aligned to both customer and Invictus Foods commercial objectives.
- Establish a strong network within customer organisations to support collaboration and drive mutual growth.
- Manage retailer systems and administrative processes including customer portals, new line forms, promotional nominations, and cost price submissions to ensure accurate and timely execution of account activity.
- Identify and pursue new customer opportunities within the UK retail and wholesale landscape, driving new business development and expanding distribution for the Invictus Foods portfolio.

Commercial Performance & Account Ownership
- Deliver agreed sales, revenue, and profitability targets across assigned accounts.
- Manage account P&L performance, ensuring strong commercial decision-making across pricing, promotions, and investment.
- Lead commercial negotiations with retail partners including pricing, promotional plans, and trading agreements.
- Manage promotional calendars and commercial investment to maximise return on trade spend.
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Develop and execute 1–3 year account strategies to support distribution expansion and category growth.
- Identify opportunities to grow distribution, optimise range performance, and increase brand visibility in-store.
- Support range reviews and ensure successful implementation of new product launches (NPD) across customer accounts.
- Deliver seasonal and promotional programmes that maximise sales performance and brand presence.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams including marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations to ensure effective delivery of customer plans.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and demand planning to support strong service levels and stock availability.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to deliver impactful brand activations and promotional initiatives.
- Partner with finance to manage commercial investment and ensure strong account profitability.
Performance Analysis & Insights
- Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify risks and growth opportunities.
- Maintain robust sales forecasting and performance tracking tools to support accurate planning and reporting.
- Provide regular commercial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform business strategy.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) managing national accounts across UK grocery and wholesale channels (e.g., Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Booker) within FMCG.
- Experience within ambient World Foods or international food categories would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of delivering growth through Forecasting, Joint Business Planning, and account strategy execution.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing account P&L, promotions, and trade investment.
- Experience building relationships with retail buying teams and senior commercial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with strong planning and project management capability.
- Experience with systems such as EDI invoicing and advanced Excel is desirable.

Salary Range: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
