Location The successful applicant can be based at either our Boddam or Uddingston site.

Thistle Seafoods is one of the largest family-owned manufacturers of quality seafood products in Europe. We supply outstanding products at every price point to leading retail and food service customers across the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia.
- Our Head Office is based in Peterhead, North-East Scotland.
- We also operate a second key site in Uddingston, on the outskirts of Glasgow.

The Role
The National Account Manager has full profit and loss responsibility for the assigned customer account. This role involves:
- Working within a high-performance team focused on strengthening existing customer relationships, increasing sales, and securing contracts with new customers.
- Requires a strong knowledge of our products, with a key role in developing, launching, and selling new offerings.

Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed sales and profit targets.
- Manage assigned customer sales as directed by the Commercial Director and CEO.
- Proactively maintain customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and improve profitability.
- Foster existing and new customer accounts.
- Manage sales records, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
- Develop and implement sales, promotional strategies, and joint business plans with customers.
- Build stronger relationships with retail buying teams.
- Negotiate prices effectively.
- Drive clear, structured new product development.
- Identify and explore new business opportunities.
- Oversee line management duties for account managers/trainee account managers.
- Help shape the overall commercial strategy and business growth.
- Champion brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), ensuring alignment between teams, customers, and suppliers for continuous improvement.
- Undertake tasks directed by the Directors or Senior Managers.

Required Experience
- Ideally three years of previous sales or commercial experience.
- Direct National Account Management experience.
- Experience within the food industry.
Education/Qualifications
- Preference for degree-level education or equivalent.
Working Hours
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
