Job Description:

At Grant Thornton we believe we’re best positioned to make a meaningful impact on the economy. Our ideas and insight empower our clients to make big decisions about the future and unlock sustainable growth. We are currently looking for an exceptional Director to join our Quality Audit team to drive our relentless focus on quality and integrity, to help businesses, communities and our people to flourish.

A look into the role

Our commitment to audit excellence remains constant. Audit quality isn’t left to chance; As a member of the Quality Audit team, you will be part of developing and maintaining a high priority service within our business, with a real opportunity to add value and shape the way our firm embeds quality within our culture and creates a high-quality service for our clients.

To successfully deliver this role, team members will need to demonstrate an ability to lead and deliver quality audits, an ability to constructively challenge and integrity. On a day-to-day basis, you will be working closely with our audit partners, teams and engagement quality review partners to perform “hot reviews” of audits. This will involve applying excellent technical and practical skills, while developing strong relationships quickly, where you can deliver challenging messages in a positive and confident way. This will involve resolving challenging situations. You will challenge the execution of audit procedures and documentation of audit work performed, whilst supporting and coaching partners and teams to implement identified improvements in audit quality. You will identify issues and matters where firm-wide action may be required, as well as other ad hoc projects related to improving audit quality. As the team grows it will also have the potential to deliver training alongside the audit standards team, providing support for the firm during FRC inspections and lend support to the legal team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
