National Business Development Manager

National Business Development Manager – Commercial & Industrial Lighting Solutions

Location: UK (National Hybrid) Salary: Excellent Basic Salary + Uncapped Bonus + Company Car/Car Allowance + Pension

Build the Future of a Growing UK Lighting Manufacturer

This isn’t just another sales role. Contrac Lighting has been designing, engineering and manufacturing commercial lighting solutions in the UK for over 40 years. With an established reputation for quality, technical expertise and customer service, we're entering an exciting new phase of growth.

We're investing in our people, products and markets, and we’re looking for an exceptional National Business Development Manager to help drive our next chapter. This opportunity is designed for an established commercial lighting professional with a proven track record and a strong network across the industry. If you’ve spent years building relationships with lighting consultants, M&E consultants, electrical contractors, M&E contractors, electrical wholesalers, and major end users, we’ll provide the platform, autonomy, and investment to help you shape our commercial direction and become a key member of our future leadership team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing new business opportunities across the UK
  • Building long-term strategic relationships to grow Contrac Lighting’s presence
  • Focusing on business development (creating opportunities, winning specifications, establishing partnerships) rather than managing an inherited customer base

You’ll also work alongside our technical, estimating and lighting design teams to deliver exceptional solutions for our customers while helping shape our commercial strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
