National Business Development Manager
🚗 Field-Based
💰 £45,000 - 55,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus
We are currently supporting a growing international business within the commercial workplace products/services sector as they look to hire a Business Development Manager to help drive UK growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and relationship-led sales professional who enjoys autonomy, strategic account development, and building long-term partnerships. The role is focused far more around developing and onboarding national accounts at head office level through branch-level merchant sales.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and growing relationships with national merchants, procurement teams, commercial stakeholders, and multi-site customers across the UK.

- Winning and developing national accounts
- Building relationships with procurement and buying teams at head office level
- Driving new business activity and pipeline generation
- Managing and growing existing strategic accounts
- Developing direct sales channels and commercial partnerships
- Identifying opportunities for long-term account growth
- Supporting national rollouts, promotions, and account activity
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to drive commercial performance
They're looking for someone who:
- A genuine new business hunter with a track record of opening doors and winning new customers.
- Experienced in field sales, business development, or national account management.
- Confident in building relationships with procurement teams, buyers, and key commercial decision-makers.
- Able to identify, secure, and grow strategic national accounts.
- Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable managing a varied sales pipeline.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a field-based role.
- Skilled at managing multiple opportunities, stakeholders, and longer sales cycles.
- Ambitious, driven, and motivated by long-term business growth.

Ideal experience includes:
- Selling into or through national merchant groups.
- Building relationships with head office procurement and buying teams.
- Managing multi-site or national customer accounts.
- Developing strategic commercial partnerships.
Backgrounds within Merchant environments, Trade, commercial fit-out, workplace solutions, FM, building products, is mandatory, and any applicants without this experience will be rejected.
