National Security Operations Room Relief
Dedicated Relief Officer for the National Security Operations Room – Norwich
Location: Norwich
Hourly Rate: £17.17 Position: Dedicated relief officer for the National Security Operations Room Hours: Contracted to 30 hours per week, with additional hours potentially available
It is desirable but not essential to have previous CCTV control room experience and a CCTV licence.
About the Position
We are seeking a highly professional and proactive Security Officer to safeguard our client’s people, property, and critical assets. This role is essential in ensuring:
- The integrity, safety, and continuity of operations
- Compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate standards
- Service excellence with a clear understanding of the role’s purpose and the value of protecting assets, including reputation and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Risk Management
- Maintain vigilance over the work environment, identifying potential threats, disruptions, or breaches.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, escalating as required.
- Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports to support governance and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate composure and professionalism in challenging situations, ensuring the protection of people, assets, and data.
- Adhere to scheduled check-ins and communication protocols to maintain operational integrity.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, legal, and regulatory requirements under guidance from Corporate Security Managers.
- Execute duties with diligence and professionalism, adhering to Assignment Instructions (AIs) while maintaining high service standards.
- Monitor operational processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, reporting risks immediately.

Training & Professional Development
- Maintain mandatory licences and certifications (e.g., Security Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV PSS – SIA), keeping them current.
- Complete all mandatory competency and compliance training.
- Engage in continuous professional development to ensure operational expertise.
- Utilise technology effectively to meet objectives and maintain records.
Candidate Profile
- Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the role’s purpose and curiosity regarding the environment.
- Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Takes pride in appearance and professionalism.
- Proven experience in the security sector, ideally within corporate or financial services.
- Preferred: Current SIA Licence (Security Guarding/Door Supervision), with CCTV PSS experience beneficial.
