National Technical Sales Manager
National Technical Sales Manager – MRO / Industrial Engineering
National (WFH & Field-Based) | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Company Car
This is an exciting opportunity to help UK industry benefit from a technology which has not yet been widely adopted in the domestic market.
SBL Services have secured exclusive distribution rights for a mechanical component brand which offers category leading performance. The primary purpose of this role will be to develop new business for this brand, whilst managing the brand’s existing customer base and ensuring they achieve maximum efficiency across all possible applications.
This is a field-based role for someone who thrives in hands-on engineering environments, enjoys solving real operational problems, and who has a strong track record of developing both existing accounts and new business.
About the Role
This is not a desk-based sales role — it is a site-led, customer-facing position where you will be trusted to manage your own diary, create new opportunities and maintain customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage existing relationships across 30+ customer sites, monitoring performance and ensuring uninterrupted supply
- Conduct site visits, walk-throughs and technical reviews
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across heavy industry
- Work closely with engineers at customer sites while also engaging procurement stakeholders commercially
- Generating leads through networking, LinkedIn, cold calls and quote follow ups

About You
We are looking for someone with strong experience in the MRO / industrial engineering / technical distribution sector, with:
- A background in bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission or MRO
- Proven success managing multi-site or multi-customer accounts
- Confidence working directly with engineers and operational teams
- High level understanding of Bearings, Linear Motion Technology and Lubrication.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and calculate performance requirements using factors such as Rotation Speed & Load.
- Experience specifying mechanical component upgrades within Heavy Industry.

Location
This role can be carried out primarily on a Work from Home basis, but you will be required to regularly travel to customer sites across the UK, as well as occasional travel to our Swindon HQ for meetings. Must hold a valid driving license.
