But it's about so much more than badges to us, it's about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
About Our Opportunity
We're looking for a National Transport Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the leadership of our national bulk transport operation. Reporting to the Head of Transport, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of transport services across a complex national network, supporting the movement of materials to customers and operational sites throughout the UK.
Working across planning, fleet, operations and commercial teams, you'll provide the operational leadership needed to keep the network performing at its best. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex operational challenges and is passionate about delivering exceptional service while continually improving performance.
What You Will Be Doing
As National Transport Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operational performance of our national bulk transport network, ensuring customer demand is met safely, efficiently and in line with agreed service standards.
Working closely with the Head of Transport, you'll coordinate activity across regional planning teams, internal and external fleet operations, commercial teams and operational stakeholders to ensure the network remains agile, responsive and capable of meeting changing business priorities. You'll proactively monitor operational performance, identifying service risks, resolving issues quickly and balancing resources across the network to maintain service excellence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
