Job Title: NDORS Trainers Starting Salary: £34,434 progressing to £37,280 per annum (pro rata for part-time) The Council contributes 19.6% of your actual pensionable pay to your LGPS pension.

About The Team
HCC’s NDORS trainings specialise in delivering road safety training courses for police forces nationwide. This is an established team subject to ongoing development, integral to promoting road safety and reducing accidents across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
About The Role
We’re recruiting for permanent full-time Trainer roles, requiring a mix of in-person and virtual delivery.
The National Driver Offenders Retraining Scheme (NDORS) courses are governed by UKROED and delivered by Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) on behalf of local police forces in both districts. HCC provides several nationally standardised training activities.
Trainers will deliver these courses in both physical and virtual classrooms:
- National Speed Awareness Course – Theory
- National Motorway Awareness Course – Theory
- Safe and Considerate Driving Course – Theory and Practical.
- What’s Driving Us? – Theory
- National Rider Risk Awareness Course (NRRAC) - Theory

Both practical and theory Trainer roles are available. The role contributes to broader efforts in reducing road crash casualties, with evolving responsibilities and future opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Development and delivery of road safety initiatives and training courses
- Deliver assessments for drivers and train assessors
- Regular review and update of training practices and procedures
About You
Essential Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet ALL of the following:

Excellent teaching/coaching skills, able to deliver courses in-person (Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire venues) and virtually (Zoom)

Hold a qualified trainer/teacher credential

Be an existing NDORS licenced Trainer (experience required)

Willingness to deliver courses 6 days per week (8:00am – 9:00pm)

Training options may include remaining NDORS licenced Instructors and internal monitoring training

SCD Practical Trainer: Must have a DVSA registered ADI (Grade B minimum)

Hold a behaviour change qualification
(Training will be provided by licensed Instructors with HCC supervision.)
Desirable Criteria
(Not mandatory but welcomed in candidates)
- A commercial driving licence (fleet)
- Approved Driving Instructor licence (ADI)
- RoSPA Silver or Gold Award
- Assessor qualifications
