We are currently seeking 2 X NDT Technicians to join our Inspection team in Blaenavon. The role will involve using various techniques including FPI, Etch, and UST to inspect products to ensure conformity to customer specification.

Key Tasks And Accountabilities

  • Inspection, evaluation, and sentencing of product in line with customer specifications.
  • To perform in-process quality checks ensuring product / equipment comply with the relevant customer specifications and audit checklists.
  • To perform non-destructive inspections on all components as identified by the MoM or customer specification.
  • To record, organise, and evaluate test results and generate inspection reports.
  • Responsible for general administration and upkeep of departmental documentation including completing/updating all in-process documentation and systems, e.g. EFACs.
  • Preparation of parts for penetrant inspection in line with relevant procedures.
  • To support and participate in audits.
  • Working with all departments to ensure the overall product/process quality is of the highest standard.
  • Highlight any non-conformances to Quality/Technical Department and actively contribute to the overall quality of the product and associated processes.
  • Understanding the materials to be tested, how they are manufactured, and the impact on the end product.

  • Level 2 certification in line with SNT-TC-1A or EN4179.
  • Ability to interpret information such as standard operating procedures, customer specifications, and MoM.
  • Must have an engineering qualification, ideally to a minimum of HNC or equivalent, or demonstrable experience performing a similar role from within the automotive, steel manufacturing, or aeronautical industry.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Experience of NDT, i.e., penetrant testing methods, ultrasonic testing methods & acid etching techniques, would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills, particularly team working.
