NDT Technician - Multi Disciplined

NDT Technician – Swansea (AdditionalTravel Required)

As an NDT Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, contributing to diverse projects and contracts. Your primary responsibility will be to perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures, ensuring the integrity, quality, and safety of our operations. You will primarily be based in Swansea, with travel requirements within Wales and the South West of England as needed for project assignments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct UT (Shear Wave), MPI, DPI, and Radiography tests in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Prepare, set up, and calibrate NDT equipment to guarantee accurate, reliable results.
  • Interpret test findings and compile detailed reports for team members or clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to support long-term contracts and optimise project execution.
  • Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to industry standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Strict adherence to health and safety protocols during all testing procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging NDT techniques and technologies by attending relevant training and qualifications.
  • Work with engineers and technical staff to address complex technical challenges.
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date documentation of all NDT activities.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • PCN/SNT Level 2 UT (Shear Wave, Advanced + Basic – 3.1 & 3.2)
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Liquid Penetrant (DPI) Certification
  • PCN/SNT Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI)
  • Level 1 & 2 Radiography (including RPS where applicable)
  • Full UK Driving License (for travel requirements)
  • Deep familiarity with NDT principles, core techniques, and knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., BS EN ISO 9712, EN ISO 17024).
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate results under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to facilitate effective teamwork.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site assignments as required by projects.
  • Self-sufficient nature with proven time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in relevant NDT software.
  • A proactive and safety-focused mindset.
  • Valid driving licence if required.
