You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

A Little More About Your Role…

As an NEC Project Manager at WSP, you'll play a leading role in delivering a diverse portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects that make a real difference to communities across the South West. Working at the forefront of project delivery, you'll manage complex schemes from inception to completion, ensuring exceptional outcomes for our clients and stakeholders.

You'll join a team of highly regarded professionals with extensive expertise in highways construction and infrastructure delivery, providing a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and professional development are actively encouraged. Beyond your immediate team, you'll have access to WSP's nationwide network of technical specialists and industry experts, giving you the resources, support and innovation needed to deliver high-quality solutions on some of the region's most exciting projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of impactful projects while advancing your career within one of the world's leading engineering and professional services consultancies.

Our clients are committing considerable investment in maintaining and improving their highways network. In addition to the annual programme of construction projects, the Council has been very successful in securing Government and other funding to deliver active travel and major projects across the county.

As a NEC Project Manager, you will play a vital role by discharging duties under the NEC Contract while working with and leading our on-site Supervisors and Quantity Surveyors. You will use your construction knowledge to verify that work is delivered in accordance with the Contract and Works Scope. You will also manage Defects, Early Warnings and Compensation Events. Your time will predominantly be on Construction Sites with visits to WSP’s Exeter office to liaise with our design teams.

If you have a passion for NEC contract management, project leadership, and delivering projects that make a real difference to local communities, we would like to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
