NEC4 Supervisor
Site-Based | Helensburgh
12 month contract initially
40 Hours Per Week
SC Clearance Required (or eligible to obtain - born in the UK)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced NEC4 Supervisor to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects within a highly regulated environment.
Working as part of the Client team, you will oversee construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and project specifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a strong civil engineering background who is looking to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure construction activities are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
You will act in the capacity of an NEC4 Supervisor, undertaking inspections, witnessing testing activities, monitoring contractor performance, and supporting overall project assurance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
NEC4 Supervision
- Act in accordance with the NEC4 contract and in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
- Support the delivery of multi-million-pound infrastructure projects within a regulated environment.
- Witness inspections and testing activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) where required.
- Issue and manage contract documentation in accordance with NEC requirements.
- Monitor compliance with inspection and test plans.
- Identify, record, and manage defects.
- Assist in the review of contractor quality plans, inspection plans, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and project documentation.
- Support project managers with contractor performance monitoring and contract administration.

Construction Assurance & Site Oversight
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Review construction methodologies, work packages, and associated documentation.
- Coordinate with commissioning and delivery teams during project execution.
- Ensure effective stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support lessons learned processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with project reporting, performance metrics, and quality KPI tracking.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Support project audits and assurance activities.
- Verify contractor competence, training records, and certifications.
- Participate in safety and environmental meetings.
- Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems and site procedures.
- Support implementation of regulated control-of-work processes where applicable.

About You
We are looking for a motivated and proactive construction professional with significant experience on major civil engineering projects.
You will have the confidence to challenge where necessary, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders within a complex project environment.
Essential Experience
- Strong understanding of NEC4 contracts, particularly the role and responsibilities of the Supervisor.
- Experience working on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience overseeing construction activities on live project sites.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a regulated environment.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- NEC4 Supervisor Accreditation.
- Previous experience within highly regulated sectors such as:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Black Card.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- First Aid Qualification.
