Neighbourhood Housing Assistant
Administrative Service Assistant
About the role
We have 2 roles available:
- 37 hours per week, over 5 days and permanent
- 30 hours per week, over 4 days and fixed term contract until 31st March 2027
Please specify in your application which role you are interested in.
Based from our Newport office, this role offers agile working, with a blend of home, office, and site-based activity, depending on business needs. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable, but not essential.
Day to day, you’ll carry out a variety of administrative tasks, supporting:
- Low-level ASB cases
- First point of contact for customer queries
- Completion of compliance-related tasks
- Management of tenancy changes
You’ll also handle:
- Minor housing enquiries
- Provide general office administration support
Skills and Experience Needed
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Proven experience in delivering effective administrative and service support within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Confidence in using initiative to solve problems
- A friendly, person-centred approach to customer service
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and written)
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable handling sensitive or challenging conversations with care
- Proactive and adaptable mindset
- Skill in taking accurate and reliable notes

Salary & Holiday
- £27,107 per annum (competitive)
- 26 days’ holiday, pro-rata entitlement + Bank holidays
