Ipswich Borough Council have a rare opportunity within our Tenancy Services Team to fulfil the role of Neighbourhood Team Manager, which will lead on delivering our Income Management service. This role plays a fundamental part in ensuring that Ipswich Borough Council tenants receive excellent services whilst living in their homes.

Through managing a team of front-line Housing Officers (Income Management Team) you will play a crucial role in the success of the service, ensuring that we drive professionalism, positivity and high satisfaction levels for our tenants. Our focus will always be on our tenants' needs and ensuring that we adopt a positive approach to maximising income so our tenants can live happily and safely within their homes. Whilst our service does maintain the highest levels of professionalism, we encourage all staff to be themselves and enjoy what they do. Working alongside a dedicated income management team, you will help influence operational delivery, whilst also supporting to shape our services in line with the new Housing Regulatory Standards.

No day is the same when you work in Social Housing so resilience will be a crucial attribute in addition to a sense of enthusiasm for what we do.

The day-to-day work will focus on the operational delivery of our Income Management based service through your team. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are compliant with our duties in line with legislation and will also be expected to lead by example through a positive attitude to supporting our tenants. Our Income team are a high performing service and are passionate about what we do, so aligning with this approach will be crucial.

You will work closely with elected representatives but also our key stakeholders both internally and externally throughout Suffolk. These will include those statutory partners such as Police and Health Services.

Driving efficiencies and thinking outside the box will be something you should pride yourself on whilst taking a personable approach to supporting your team and the wider service. You will be expected to attend court when required and should be experienced in policy / procedure reviews to enhance our service offer.
