12-Month Fixed Term Part-Time Band 5 Neonatal Nurse (York Hospital)
About the Role
We are seeking a registered Nurse (adult or children’s) with an interest in neonatal nursing to join our Level 2 Local Neonatal Team at York Hospital on a 12-month fixed-term contract until August 2027. This is a part-time role supporting pre-term and term babies requiring care, including transitional support following the launch of our new service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Caring for infants born from 27+ weeks gestation across 15 cots, including 2 ICU/HDU cots.
- Working in partnership with families and a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality baby care and optimal parent-baby bonding.
- Mobility between delivery suite, postnatal ward, and the Neonatal Unit where necessary.

Core Duties:
- Deliver patient-focused neonatal care, adhering to York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, including strict infection control compliance.
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care with accurate documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and health professionals to ensure informed support.
- Support teamwork by fostering positive relationships among staff and families.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work across different wards/departments as needed by service demand.
- Uphold the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
Education & Training
