About Us

Our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is a busy, friendly Level 1 Neonatal Unit providing high-quality, family-centred care to babies and their families at the very start of their neonatal journey. The unit comprises 10 cots, including:

We care for babies from 32 weeks gestation, provide stabilisation for more premature or critically unwell term neonates, and work closely with the Peninsula Neonatal Transport Team. As part of the Southwest Neonatal Network, we offer excellent exposure to wider neonatal pathways and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and record infants’ clinical condition, including vital signs, feeding tolerance, respiratory support, and developmental progress, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Support and educate parents and families, promoting family-centred care and encouraging parental involvement in their baby’s care.
  • Responsible for the delivery of effective, high quality nursing care in accordance with local, service line and Trust policies and guidelines with the support of the Senior Nursing Team.
  • Participate in Southwest Neonatal Network service development.
  • Participate in and demonstrate evidence-based practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
