Neonatal Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team working across the Neonatal Service on a permanent contract.

The Neonatal Unit has 12 cots, caring for Intensive Care, High Dependency and Special Care babies from 27 weeks gestation and 4 Transitional Care cots based on the Maternity Ward. The post holder ideally should be qualified in paediatrics and have knowledge of neonatal care. The post holder will be required to work across the Neonatal service covering both areas and may occasionally have to work on the paediatric wards.

The role is challenging and demanding and you will require a flexible and proactive approach to develop your existing skills in a new environment.

Collaborative working within the wider multi-disciplinary team is essential therefore you require excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work on your initiative as part of a wider team. The post provides opportunities for training and development to further advance your skills and career.

The Neonatal Unit provides care for babies who are sick and/or premature who require intensive, high dependency, special or transitional care.

The post holder will work as part of the neonatal team providing holistic family-centred care to babies and their families. The post holder will be expected to develop a wide range of clinical skills and competencies relating to neonatal care and will support the senior team members and medical staff in ensuring care delivery is of a high quality and meets all expected local, regional and national standards.
