NERS Onboarding Coordinator
Term: Fixed Term Contract – 3 months
Working pattern: Hybrid working pattern
Location: Homebased with expected travel to office, when required
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum (DOE)

Role Purpose
The NERS Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end onboarding and competence assurance process for contractors and operatives working under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS). The role ensures that all applications, competence evidence, and supporting documentation are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with NERS requirements and company procedures. Working closely with contractors, operatives, and Assessing Officers, the coordinator maintains robust tracking and reporting processes, monitors authorisations and renewals, standardises onboarding practices, and supports continuous improvement to ensure a compliant, efficient, and operationally effective onboarding function.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, classify, and prioritise all outstanding contractor and operative applications.
- Identify each application’s current status, missing information, responsible party, and required next action.
- Process new onboarding applications - Liaise with contractors and operatives to obtain competence evidence.
- Validate submitted evidence for completeness, legibility, relevance, validity, and expiry.
- Maintain an accurate, controlled tracker covering contractors, operatives, competence categories, actions, and deadlines.
- Prepare complete, indexed evidence packs for submission to the appointed Assessing Officer.
- Record assessment decisions, restrictions, further evidence requirements, authorisation outcomes, and NERS passport actions.
- Standardise evidence requirements, request templates, document naming conventions, rejection reasons, and contractor guidance.
- Implement controlled expiry monitoring, renewal arrangements, and a compliant fast-track process for urgent operational requirements.
- Produce weekly performance reports, train the nominated internal administrator, and complete a final handover and improvement plan.
