About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our client's team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful AI-driven products within a fast-paced, technologically advanced setting. The successful candidate will primarily focus on developing, reviewing, and maintaining production-grade backend code, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability of the platform. While this position is initially hands-on, there is substantial scope for broader technical responsibilities, including architecture leadership, mentoring, and potentially progressing into a principal or technical lead role over the next 12 to 18 months. The role does not involve people management at this stage but provides a clear pathway for technical growth and influence within the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend development with expertise in C# and modern.NET frameworks, particularly version 8 and above. Proven experience working with Blazor in production environments is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of microservices architecture, including design, deployment, and operation. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure, is required, with familiarity in services such as App Service, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and Key Vault. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, is also necessary. A good grasp of API gateway patterns, API security, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect is important to ensure secure and reliable integrations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
