Location: Edinburgh Salary: £43k–48k

The Role
As a .NET Developer at Storm, you’ll join our technical team in our modern Edinburgh offices. You’ll work across multiple projects, collaborating on dynamic, cross-functional teams.
You’ll collaborate with developers and technical leads, contributing to the specification, implementation, testing, and deployment of software solutions for our clients. Growth and innovation are encouraged—you’ll learn from your peers while making your own impact.
You’ll also engage with automating the software delivery process, including:
- Infrastructure-as-code (using Terraform or Bicep)
- Frontend and backend build/test automation scripts
- Maintenance and management of pipelines in GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps

Experience Required:
- At least one year as a web developer with hands-on experience in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of C# and .NET, with demonstrated expertise in real-world deployments.
- Willingness to explore cloud native development, including experience (or interest) in:
- Source control systems (Git)
- Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)—automation, provisioning, and security
- Build/deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps)
- Web API development (ASP.NET Core), including Minimal APIs or controllers
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and ORMs (Entity Framework Core)
- Containerisation (Docker)
- Testing (NUnit/xUnit) for unit and integration tests
- RESTful API design (HTTP verbs, status codes, JSON)

What You’ll Do
A diverse set of responsibilities will challenge and shape your work here:
- Work with teams to define application features and functionality.
- Develop maintainable, scalable solutions using proven design patterns.
- Create reusable software components and automation scripts for both development and operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose application/cloud infrastructure issues securely and compliantly.
- Research and share insights on tools/technologies to improve software development and delivery.
- Support production environments through our second-line in-house support.
- Assist colleagues in DevOps practices, including pipeline scripting or DevOps infrastructure templates.
- Component of automated testing in continuous delivery pipelines.
- Maintain technical documentation and produce tutorials for internal teams and stakeholders.
