About The Role

We are currently partnering with a prestigious London-based financial services client seeking to appoint a Principal.Net Developer. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining a suite of business-critical applications, ensuring they operate efficiently and securely. The successful candidate will serve as a hands-on technical leader, guiding a team of developers, mentoring junior staff, and driving best practices within the development lifecycle. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex systems within the investment banking or investment management sectors, contributing directly to the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience in .Net development, preferably within investment banking or investment management environments.
  • Proven track record as a principal or lead developer, with experience in leading and mentoring software development teams.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to optimize queries and manage database schemas effectively.
  • Good experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and best coding practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of core business applications using.Net technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance optimization.
  • Manage and optimize SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient data retrieval.
  • Utilize Kubernetes for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements and innovations.
