Job Purpose

We now seek Engineers to support the transformation and growth of our business, simplifying our IT architecture by modernising legacy systems and delivering new technological solutions that provide market-leading services for our colleagues, customers, and advisers.

What You’ll Do

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the strategic design and development of software solutions, ensuring high-quality outputs that adhere to industry best practices.

Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and Testers, the ideal candidate will contribute to project feasibility, requirements gathering, design, development, quality assurance, and delivery plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop software solutions that align with defined requirements, following best practice and industry standards.
  • Create reusable, well-documented, and extensible code, including unit tests.
  • Consider non-functional requirements such as performance, auditing, security, and ongoing maintainability throughout development.
  • Identify risks in a proactive manner.
  • Participate and contribute to technical design and review sessions.
  • Develop components for system integration with existing applications.
  • Design and build black-box services/libraries (highly reusable components).
  • Develop prototypes or Proofs of Concept to validate new ideas and solutions.
  • Facilitate automated testing, integration, and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Support acceptance testing as required.
  • Participate in problem-solving and debugging to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain transparent communication by providing regular progress updates to project management and team leaders—allowing seamless task regulation and review.
  • Engage in mentoring, code reviews, and pair programming to foster knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain and contribute to company-standard documentation.
  • Enourage continuous learning and professional development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
