We're looking for a Senior.NET Kafka Engineer to support a critical Kafka migration to Confluent Cloud. This is not an infrastructure-only Kafka role—the ideal candidate must have strong .NET development skills with the ability to read, modify, and validate Kafka producer/consumer code.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate Kafka producers and consumers from DHL Parcel UK Kafka to Confluent Cloud.
- Update Confluent.Kafka.NET client configurations.
- Read, modify, and validate .NET Kafka producer/consumer code.
- Validate end-to-end message flow for producer and consumer applications.
- Configure and verify consumer groups, offset management, rebalancing, and error handling.
- Perform Kafka throughput validation and performance testing.
- Troubleshoot Kafka connectivity and message flow issues in.NET applications.
- Collaborate with.NET engineers to resolve application-level Kafka integration challenges.

- Strong C#/.NET coding skills with hands-on experience in Kafka integrations.
- Experience with Confluent.Kafka.NET (ProducerBuilder, ConsumerBuilder, ProducerConfig, ConsumerConfig).
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Cloud, including SASL/PLAIN authentication, Schema Registry, and ACLs.
- Strong understanding of Kafka concepts: topics, partitions, consumer groups, offset management, and rebalancing.
- Experience with Avro and JSON Schema serialization using.NET serializers/deserializers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Kafka connectivity, messaging, and application-level integration issues.
