About The Role
We are seeking a skilled VB.NET Web Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing HotLizard's core products and upcoming projects, including a suite of sports-related platforms. Your primary focus will be on developing robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions using VB.NET, working closely with the product management and design teams to deliver high-quality features. The role offers an opportunity to work in an environment that values autonomy, innovation, and proactive decision-making, enabling you to focus solely on software development without unnecessary red tape or distractions. You will be involved in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining web applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience working with VB.NET in a web development context. A strong understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL is essential. Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation and a proactive approach to achieving project goals, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills are vital for collaborating within a team and articulating technical concepts clearly. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure are also required. Desirable qualifications include experience with HTML, CSS (and LESS), JavaScript (and TypeScript), ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC, IIS, WebAPI, jQuery, and familiarity with agentic coding tools like Claude Code. Experience with unit testing and source control management tools like TFS will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using VB.NET, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design and implement new features and functionalities to improve user experience and platform capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the delivery of quality software products.
- Maintain and optimize relational databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Document technical specifications, code changes, and system configurations clearly and comprehensively.
- Support the deployment and integration of new features into live environments.
