Network Architect
London | Hybrid (2 Days)
A leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Network Architect to play a pivotal role in the design, evolution, and governance of its enterprise network infrastructure. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected technology function responsible for delivering secure, resilient, and high-performing network services supporting critical global operations.
The Role
As Network Architect, you will be responsible for defining and delivering network architecture strategies across a complex enterprise environment. You will lead the design of scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions, working closely with infrastructure, security, cloud, and engineering teams to support both business transformation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise network architecture standards, roadmaps, and high-level designs.
- Design and govern complex LAN, WAN, cloud, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Lead network architecture for major technology transformation and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve performance, resilience, security, and scalability.
- Define network security requirements, including segmentation, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and remote access solutions.
- Produce architecture documentation and present solutions to architecture and governance forums.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and delivery teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Support capacity planning, resilience strategies, and disaster recovery requirements across the network estate.

About You
- Proven experience as a Network Architect, Lead Network Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of enterprise networking including routing, switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, DNS, and load balancing technologies.
- Strong experience with network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure remote access.
- Knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- Experience designing highly available and resilient infrastructure supporting business-critical services.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence technical decision-making at both engineering and leadership levels.

Desirable Qualifications
- CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent networking certifications.
- Cloud networking certifications within AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience within regulated industries such as financial services, banking, payments, or fintech.
