Network Architect (Fortinet Specialist) – Contract

πŸ“ Fully Remote (UK)
πŸ’° Β£550 per day (Inside IR35)
πŸ“… Initial 4-Month Contract

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead a comprehensive review and assessment of a large-scale enterprise network environment. This engagement requires a highly skilled consultant with strong Fortinet expertise who can independently assess network architecture, security controls, operational maturity, and management processes across a complex multi-site infrastructure. You will be responsible for analysing both live network configurations and existing documentation, identifying risks, benchmarking against industry standards, and delivering practical recommendations for improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior networking professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with strategic architecture and consultancy work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an end-to-end review of enterprise network design, performance, security, and operational maturity.
  • Assess network environments including:
    • LAN
    • WLAN
    • SD-WAN
    • Firewall infrastructure
    • Routing and switching
    • BGP routing
    • IPSec VPNs
  • Review network segmentation strategies across both North-South and East-West traffic flows.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of network security controls and governance processes.
  • Assess Azure-hosted FortiGate deployments and associated cloud networking configurations.
  • Review authentication and privileged access controls for users and administrators.
  • Evaluate monitoring, logging, audit, and accounting capabilities.
  • Assess configuration management processes and identify areas of configuration drift or governance risk.
  • Review technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, network diagrams, standards, and supporting operational documentation.
  • Benchmark network configurations against industry best practices and recognised frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NCSC guidance.
  • Produce detailed findings, recommendations, and remediation plans for both technical and executive audiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
