Network Deployment Engineer – AWS Infrastructure Operations
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team dedicated to ensuring the continuing availability of Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions, working alongside software engineers, hardware specialists, network experts, security professionals, and supply chain professionals.
About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Network Deployment Engineer to expand our Infrastructure Operations team. As AWS continues to grow, dedicated cloud regions require dedicated engineers to scale network systems, driving stability and innovating automation at scale. As a Network Deployment Engineer, you will:
- Scale network support across multiple data center locations
- Aid in automating network processes
- Collaborate across AWS teams and external vendors to streamline missions
Responsibilities
Core duties include:

Cross-functional Stakeholder Engagement
- Clearly communicate project status and objections to leadership and technical program managers.
- Collaborate to remove project impediments.

Hardware & Infrastructure Deployment
- Execute device build and cabling validations.
- Manage cabling vendors and perform quality assurance.

Technical Execution
- Support networking deployments during change management windows.
- Assist in off-hours hardware migration, configuration, and rollout.

Customer & Operations Support
- Fulfil customer requests through the Remedy ticketing system.
- Proactively troubleshoot networking, routing, interconnection, and application interaction issues.

- Design sustainable operational methods and refine best practices.
- Recommend incremental improvements to workload management and resolution cycles.

- Track work through ticketing systems and workflows.
Duties in Context
A day in the life involves:
- Fielding meetings for cross-team alignment
- Driving change activities in data centre environments
- Installing hardware and managing cabling infrastructure
- Resolving link-level diagnostics while updating tickets
- Partnering with peers at scale across AWS to develop next-gen solutions

Eligibility & Requirements
Maximum Security Clearance
To join, you must be a UK national with the ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (full details: https://www.gov.uk).
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years real-world experience in cabling and hardware provisioning or troubleshooting in a data centre environment—small project budgets or ambiguous details welcome
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Undergraduate degree in Information Systems or Computer Science (or equivalent certifications)
- Practical understanding of routers, switches, cabling, optic fibres, and available test equipment
