Thrive Network Deployment Engineer
Position Overview
As a member of the Thrive Network Deployment team, you will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure and services to Thrive’s new and existing customers. You’ll optimize and secure environments using primary networking solutions such as:
- Fortinet & Palo Alto firewalls
- Cisco, Meraki & Extreme switching
- Meraki & Ruckus wireless
Your role will involve product evaluations, upgrades, network expansion, monitoring, and documentation, while following established standards and contributing to process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Handle diverse networking environments across a wide range of business clients
- Analyze and document unfamiliar network environments
- Collaborate with relevant teams for equipment installation, service testing, and problem resolution
- Deploy and activate network solutions and internet circuits
- Troubleshoot network incidents and provide escalation information as needed
- Drive deployments through the project process to successful completion
- Conduct deployment activities during scheduled maintenance windows
- Transition deployed services to the support team with full documentation for long-term maintenance
- Escalate issues to senior engineers for further review or troubleshooting
- Communicate directly with customers about project plans, potential impact, and testing procedures
- Demonstrate strong time management to execute large projects effectively

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a strong team-first attitude
- 1-3 years of networking and firewall experience
- Proficient in IPv4 protocols, VPN, TCP/IP, and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls
- Cisco, Meraki, Extreme switches
- Meraki/Ruckus wireless
- Visio proficiency required
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nable, SolarWinds) preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
- Experience troubleshooting network configurations and hardware issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience
- Fortinet NSE4 or higher certification preferred
