Network Development Engineer – Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a Network Development Engineer to support the deployment and maintenance of studio productions network, security, and IT technologies. In this role, you will design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure that enables world-class content production across our studio facilities. You will work closely with production teams, security engineers, and IT operations to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity for active film and television productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design network topologies and services to meet evolving requirements, and create supporting documentation
- Deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and VoIP infrastructure across studio locations
- Collaborate with Security Teams to evaluate and approve network security posture for facilities handling unreleased content
- Monitor network performance, respond to real-time alerts, and troubleshoot connectivity issues across wired, wireless, and VoIP systems
- Manage and support on-site compute, server, and storage platforms that enable production data workflows and media asset handling
- Track and resolve user-reported issues through the ticketing system while maintaining documentation of resolutions and standard operating procedures
- Perform routine maintenance on network equipment, manage cabling infrastructure, and coordinate with vendors during outages or installations
- Maintain network diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for all studio environments

About the Team
The Media Systems Engineering team designs and delivers production and post-production environments, technology solutions, and hybrid infrastructure that automate, streamline, and optimise audio and video workflows throughout the content creation lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, and other Routing and Switching (R&S) technologies
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g.,
telnet,Test-NetConnection,tracert,tracetcp,iperf,nnttcp,dig, and packet capture tools), or experience in managing and troubleshooting networks - Experience with automation and any version control tools
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering)
- Demonstrated professional experience in network engineering, development, or operations
- Experience with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or equivalents)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing or supporting networks in media, entertainment, or production studio environments
- Experience with network automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway)
- Experience with VoIP/Iba Phone services platforms (e.g., Cisco UCM, Avaya, or similar)
- Experience administering SAN/NAS storage systems (e.g., NetApp, Isilon, Pure Storage, or equivalents)
- Knowledge of storage protocols such as FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or AWS Cloud Practitioner)
Flexible schedule: Kindly note this role will require weekend, night, and holiday availability, owing to studio-based operations.
