Senior Network Engineer
Role Type: Contract (12 Months)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support and maintain critical trading infrastructure within a high-availability financial services environment. The successful candidate will be capable of independently resolving complex network issues with minimal escalation while executing implementation plans with precision.
The role involves supporting customized network switch configurations hosted at financial exchanges, ensuring maximum network performance and reliability.
Please note: Occasional weekend work (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM UK time) may be required based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents independently.
- Support and maintain critical trading network infrastructure.
- Configure, manage and troubleshoot Arista-based network environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise firewall technologies.
- Support Extranet and Exchange connectivity.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams, external clients, and financial exchanges.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Maintain network stability, availability, and performance across production environments.
- Participate in planned maintenance and implementation activities.
- Provide technical support during occasional weekend project work.

Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience with Arista networking.
- Hands-on Firewall administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Extranet / Exchange Connectivity.
- Previous experience within the Financial Services / Banking / Trading industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Packet Capturing (Wireshark, tcpdump or similar).
- Syslog analysis.
- Corvil latency analysis.
- Experience supporting low-latency or trading environments.
